| Objective To study the effects of the use of Salmeterol/fluticasone, N-acetylcysteine,Theophylline Sustained-release Tablet on stable COPD patients' airway inflammation, pulmonary function, and QOL(quality of life). Methods The research enrolled 132 patients with stable COPD. These patients were randomized into three groups:Group A(43)in which patients were given Salmeterol/fluticasone twice per day;Group B (42)in which patients took Salmeterol/fluticasone twice per day and N-acetylcysteine 0.6g three times per day;Group C(47)in which patients were given Salmeterol/fluticasone twice per day, N-acetylcysteine 0.6g three times per day and Theophylline Sustained-release Tablet 0.2g twice per day.The course of treatment is four weeks. All the patients were measured in pulmonary function,IL-8, TNF-α,SOD and MDA in blood serum and induced sputum. They were also examined to check cellular count and classification of induced sputum smear, and evaluated in QOL.Results After treatment FEV1,FEV1%,QOL evaluation,IL-8, TNF-α,total cellular count and Neu%in induced sputum have obvious contrast in group A(p<0.05,p<0.01);After treatment FEV1,FEV1%,QOL evaluation,SOD and MDA in blood serum,IL-8,TNF-α,SOD and MDA,total cellular count,Neu%and Am%in induced sputum have obvious contrast in group B(p<0.05,p<0.01);compared with group A, SOD and MDA in blood serum and the Neu%in induced sputum smear have significant difference. After treatment FEV1,FEV1%,QOL evaluation, SOD and MDA in blood serum,IL-8,TNF-α,SOD and MDA,total cellular count,Neu%and Am%in induced sputum have obvious contrast in group C(p<0.05,p<0.01);compared with group A,FEV1%,QOL evaluation,SOD and MDA in blood serum and Neu%and Am%in induced sputum smear have significant difference(p<0.05).Conclusion There are more benefits in treatment of combination of Salmeterol/fluticasone,N-acetylcysteine and Theophylline Sustained-release Tablet in pulmonary function, airway inflammation and QOL of stable COPD. |
