The Effects Of Insulin Pump Treatment On Islet Function In Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic Patients

The effects of insulin pump treatment on islet function in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patientsObjective To evaluate the difference of the continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion(CSII)treatment on beta cell function between the fat and the macilent newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients.Method Forty-two newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients were divided two groups according to the body mass index limit 25kg/m~2. The all patients were treated by CSII and kept the same glucose levels during the treatment.Fasting plasma glucose(FPG)and insulin,0.5 hours postprandial glucose(0.5hPG)and insulin and 2 hPG and insulin after oral 75g glucose were measured before and after CSII treatment. The improvement of beta cell function and the insulin resistance were compared by Homa formula andâ–³I30/â–³G30.A fter insulin pump treatment,improvement of islet function appreciated by Homa formula andâ–³I30/â–³G30 is analsized with change of BMI.Result There was no obviously difference in the beta cell function evaluated by Homa -B between the two groups before CSII treatment. And the insulin resistance index evaluated by Homa -IR of the fat group was similar to the macilent group.After CSII treatment,the fat group is more significant than the macilent in Homa -B and Homa -IR With BMI increasing,improvement of islet function is more obvious.Conclusion The beta cell function of both groups was improved after the treatment of CSII and the fat group is more significant than the macilent.Significance CSII is one of insulin intensive therapy methods for recent years.That simulated the physiological insulin secret mode, can keep basal insulin infusion for 24 hours to restrain the liver glycogeny and give the bolus before meal to decrease the postprandial glucose.In recent years,short-time CSII can quickly and stably control the glucose and improve the beta cell function,that get the consent by the internal and abroad specialists.This study is about the treatment of short-time CSII to the fat and macilent diabetic patients and the improvement of beta cell function of the fat group was more significant than the macilent group.The diabetic patients treated by CSII could not take medicine or could take fewer medicine.The treatment could lessen the diabetic physiologic,psychologic and economic burden.,so it have intensive economic and social effects.
