Objective:Traditional Chinese medical classic SHL is one course attaches great importance to integrating theory with practice.Only it returns to the clinical practice can the items no longer be obscure,and become lively.We designed the multi-media data base according to the special feature of SHL course itself, Based on clinical perceptual knowledge and with the help of multi-media information technology,it does better to students' clinical thinking and judging.Through the practice of this subject,we provided unique originality of teaching resources for the national similar courses,established a new multi-media teaching curriculum and also explored a new path for Chinese classical teaching reform.So it has important and far-reaching significance.Methods:In three years of time,we have collected various acquisition of video material from the hospital ward,classrooms,and the famous old Chinese medicine doctor seminars and established multi-media video teaching data base with multi-media information technology.Through the preparation of HTML and ASP language,we showed the SHL integrating clinical practice and "multi-media video teaching" in form of lively web page which can be used as CAI for the class teaching.It provides the teachers of SHLwith case video-style discussion in which students interact and exchange with teachers so as to enhance their dialectical thinking ability.We also strive to create a platform that SHL multi-media video teaching can be used by students for sharing and self-learning through the internet website. Results:Throuch the questionnaire,the students feedback on the usace of this multi-media resources data base.The results shows that the ward rounds video impressed the students very much,80 percent of the students like the video case. With the case-video study,the students got a very good theoretical and clinical improvement,and practised the clinic thinking ability,92%of students felt that the "multi-media teaching video" were helpful for learning SHL.86%of the students expressed the satisfaction with the resource base,75 percent hope to increase the proportion of usage of multimedia video teaching system.97 percent support us todesign it into a site for students to use.In addition,the rich multimedia material resources helped the excellent courses site to pass the assessment of experts successfully,and become the 2007 state-level excellent courses.Conclusion:SHL is the first clinical study classic of China.A large number of items of it are vectors of vivid clinical cases.Only clinic can bring it home.Only return to the clinic study,can we understand its true meaning,and also make it become lively knowledge.That is the meaning of our teaching.Through this issue,we turn the obscure items to fresh medical cases by introducing clinical cases with multimedia information technology in the process of teaching.It also enables students to increase the clinical perceptual knowledge and get great interest in learning.With the construction of multimedia data base which becomes one part of case-style teaching system,we set up abridge between the theory and the clinic,changed the situation that the theory disjoint clinic study and cultivated the ability of thinking and comprehensive analysis of the students.
