Dental rehabilitation of partially or totally edentulous patients with oral implants has become common practice in the last decades, with reliable long-term results.Owing to beautiful outlook and conformability of the implant denture,it praised highly by Various people. Therefore, there are a mass of cases with insufficient bone mass to whom implantation can't be applied in clinic, because the available bone mass failed to supply the primary stability of implant. And moreover, osteointegration what happen in implant-Osseo interface also guaranteed by sufficient bone around dental implant. The aim of my study is to analyze publications related to augmentation procedures including surgery preparation and to evaluate the success of different surgical techniques for different bone defect and the survival/success rates of implants placed in the augmented areas.Several treatment of bone defect will be discussed.Including bone grafting, distraction osteogenesis, guided bone regeneration,Maxillary Sinus Lifting,Mobilization of the inferior alveolar nerve,Bone Condensing and Bone Splitting. In my clinical study,I choose patients with defect of dentition whose bone mass in edentulous ridge is insufficient and picked five representative cases, then treated them by different surgeries. As a result, the effects of the surgeries in augmented areas are satisfactory. The survival/success rate was 100%for all the implantation.
