Analysis On Clinical Characteristics Of Hypertension In Patients With Primary Aldosteronism

ObjectivePrimary aldosteronism(PA)is one of the common form of secondary hypertension. Its clinical characteristics includes hypertension,hypokalemia,elevated plasma aldosterone,and low plasma renin activity.It is easily misdiagnosed in clinic,for most of the patients on the early stage of PA may only with hypertension appearance,that appears to increase cardiovascular or cerebrovascula or renal complications.This article analyzes the clinical characteristics of hypertension in patients with PA,including the incidences complications and the therapeutic efficacy.It may provide some help on the diagnosis and the therapy, and make us pay more attention to primary aldosteronism.MethodsCollected the data of the clinical manifestation,auxiliary examination and therapeutic results of 68 patients who were diagnosed as primary aldosteronism.Then divided the patients into two groupes by the course of disease,the incidences were compared.And divided the patients who taked surgical treatment by their blood pressure after operation into two groupes,the age,gender,the course of disease,family medical history,blood pressure,and the medication were compared.ResultsIncidence of hypertension in patients with PA was 98.5%.14.9%,47.8%and 3 7.3%of patients were at stage 1,2 and 3 of hypertension,respectively.No relationship between hypertension and the age or duration of hypertension and the size of tumor,cardiovascular complications of hypertension were found in 42.9%of patients with PA.Stroke was found in 2.9%of patients,proteinuria was found in 33.8%of patients and two of them aggravate to renal insufficiency, respectively.Incidence of cardiovascular complications is 88.9%.Patients with APA or IHA had the different incidence of cardiovascular complications when their durations of PA were shotter than 5 years or longer than 15 years.38. 9%of patients still had persistent hypertension after operation..It happened partly depend of the age,gender,the course of disease,family medical history,and the necessity of using antihypertensive drugs before operation.Conclusion1.The incidence of hypertension in patients with PA was extremely high;2.Complications were common,and were influenced by the course of disease;3.The surgical therapeutic efficacy depended of many factors.
