Objective:Vertigo is a common clinical symptoms. It can seriously interfere with people's normal life and work. The causes to Lead to the vertigo are complex and We alresdy have more clinical examinations for vertigo. In this experiment,we select some of the common diseases of Otogenic vertigo.Through recording and analyzing the vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) of such patients with vertigo,We can get the message of the saccular function in these patients and can provide certain auxiliary reference value for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of vertigo.Methods:15 cases (30 ears) in patients with Meniere's disease and 16 cases (32 ears) in patients with sudden deafness with vertigo were respectively given conventional pure-tone audiometry (PTT),the vestibular caloric test and VEMP test.To analyze its different manifestations of VEMP and compare the results with the results of PTT and vestibular caloric test r, and 21 cases (42 ears) with no age and gender differences in the health of populations were compared. To record relevant data for statistical analysis. Results:The incidences of VEMP in three groups were100%,40%and 34.4%.There are obvious statistic differences between A and B,A and C groups, but there's no statistic difference between B and C groups. The p13 and n23 latency period in two case groups were obviously prolong than the normal groups, but the p-p amplitude were lower than the normal groups. There is no correlativity between VEMP and pure tone hearing and caloric test. Conclusion:These results suggest that VEMP can objectively evaluate the saccular function of vertigo patients and it can be a method of vestibular fuction examination. With the vestibular caloric test and other examinations,VEMP can be helpful for evaluation of the vestibular function and can provide certain auxiliary reference value for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of vertigo.
