Objective: By establishing the rat model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury to explore the antioxidation of metoprolol in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.Method: 24 WISTAR rats were randomly divided into three groups: sham-operation,metoprolol and saline control groups.Except for the sham-operation group,in the other two groups the left anterior descending coronary artery was ligated for 30min and then loosed for 120min to establish the rat model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. The levels of MDA and GSH-PX were detected at reperfusion 120 min; During the processes, leadâ…¡ECG was traced continuously to note the heart rate before injecting metoprolol and saline,as 15min after injecting metoprolol and saline,as 15min,30min after ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery,as 30min,120min after loosing the left anterior descending coronary artery .Result: Metoprolol group serum MDA content is largely higher than sham-operation group and serum GSH-PX content is greatly lower than sham-operation group at 120 min after reperfusion; Metoprolol group serum MDA content is dramatically lower than saline control group and serum GSH-PX content is greaterly higher than saline control group at 120 min after reperfusion; Compared with saline control and sham-operation groups, metoprolol group heart rate was dramatically reduced as 15min after injecting,as 15min,30min after ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery,as 30min,120min after loosing the left anterior descending coronary artery .Conclusion: Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury may lead to lipid peroxide ;Metoprolol has antioxidatant effect in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Metoprolol may reduce the heart rate.
