Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides L. is one of traditional Chinese medicines in common use with its herbs. It is a member of Hydrocotyle. Abundant in natural resources, this species has wide distribution in China. Some articles report that the herbs of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides L. has therapic effects in hepatitis. And Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides has been used as traditional Chinese medicine and ethnic drug to therapy hepatitis in china. Active components are hoped to be find in Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides. These active components can be used as lead compounds to discover new drugs. In this dissertation, studies on chemical constituents of the herbs of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides L. ten compounds were separated from the herbs of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides by using open-column, gel chromatography ,preparative TLC methods and recrystallisation et al. ten compounds'structures were identified on the ground of physical, chemical properties and spectral data. The ten compounds respectively are Stigmasterol(1), Daucosterol(2),Hibalactone (3), Genistein(4), Daidzein(5),methyl-3, 4-dihydroxybenzoate(6), Protocatechuic acid(7), Cafeic acid(8),isorhamnetin(9),Quercetin(10), Hyperin(11). 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,8 were isolate from Hydrocotyle for the first time.Aetherolea from herbs of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides was study by GC-MS for the first time. Fourteen compounds were identified among Forty-eight compounds. All Fourteen compounds were identified in the aetherolea of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides for the first time.Pharmaco-activities of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides was studied by Hep G2 2.2.15 cell for the first time. The results showed that Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides had no toxicity to Hep G2 2.2.15 cell, its water extracts had inhibition to HBsAg at the concentration of 1 mg/ml, the inhibition ratio is 27%.
