Anti-bacteria and anti-virus activity of extract from DtM were studied in this article, and mouse encephalitis model was used for the first time to evaluate the anti-virus effects of DtM in vitro.Followed by modem phytochemical techniques, methods of quality analysis on DtM were established.Anti-bacteria results show that bacteriostatic action of aqueous extract does not strong, flavonoids bacteriostasis is best, essential oil takes the second place. The components of essential oil are terpenoid(sesquiterpenes and monoterpene)and fatty hydrocarbons. The most abundant element in DtM oil are verbenone(25.18%),cineol(10.9%),n-heptane(7.82%),anthranilic acid, 1,5-dimethyl-1-vinyl-4-hexenyl ester(5.8%),(+)-pinanediol(5.14%).The extracts from DtM had remarkable effect on inhibiting HSV-2 in vitro. These two extracts have good antiviral effect before the HSV-2 infection the Vero cell. The Treatment index(TI)of DtM ethanol extracts is 11.3.In the mouse encephalitis model, the antiviral effect of the middle does is better than the high and low does, can remarkably lengthen mouse's average survival number of days.Flavone existing form is always glycoside in plant.Flavonoid aglycone can direct absorb by blood,so flavonoid aglycone has more bioavailability than flavone. The optimum hydrolysis condition is obtained by orthogonal test.Followed by antibacterial experiments,we use HPLC-MS to analyze flavone compounds.A3B1C1D2 that is using 3mol/1 HCl,50% methanol-HCl mixed solution 30 ml,hydrolysis 1h at85℃is the best condition. The result of HPLC-MS is that the most abundant element in DtM flavonoids are isocladrastin(16.34%), scoparin(30.94%),artemitin(1.58%),3',5,5'-trihydroxy-3,4',6.7-tetramethylflavone(23.14%), 3',4'-dimethoxyflavone(14.18%).The content of these material account for 86.16%of total DtM flavonoid.
