Percutaneous Absorption Investigation Of Chaihu Gancao Mixture

The system of drug Percutaneous delivery is a new studying realm of pharmacy. This study firstly predigested the good effective Chinese medicine, Xiao Chai Hu Tang and changed it as Chaihu-Licorce mixture, and the effects of different enhancers of Percutaneous absorption were compared, then an optimal combination was gained. The aim of this research is to create new Percutaneous absorption preparation, promote the curative effects of fever, and modernize the science of Pharmacy.In order to investigate the sorbefacient mechanism of Chaihu Gancao mixture, Menthol, Borneol, Azone and the mixture of them were used as the enhancers , and to study the elevating effects to Chaihu-Licorce mixture by use of Guniea pig skin in vitro as material. As a result, the effects of the mixture were the best than all of others, which is comprised with 2% Menthol, 2% Borneol, 2% Azone.By the use of SEM, This study was also aimed to investigate these enhancers how to change the ultrastructure of in vivo and in vitro skins of KM mice, and to explore the sorbefacient mechanism of enhancers to Chaihu Gancao mixture in the angle of Cell Histology. As a result, Cuticle cells were observed being loosen, intercellular space enlarged and the caliber of folliculus pili widen., it is clearly to say that each set of medicine had changed the ultrastructure of animal skin to different extents, and the effect of Azone is somewhat larger than the others, but the mixture had the most enhancing effect as the ultrastructure of skin changed largestly.So it was concluded that the mixture of three medicines have co-operative effects on Percutaneous absorption to Chaihu Gancao mixture.All of these experiments showed that combination of Menthol, Borneol, Azone as the enhancer is adapted to develop Percutaneous delivery preparation of Chaihu Gancao mixture.
