| ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the changes of the maxillary arch after the non-extraction treatment in adult patients with mild crowding and provide reference for the treatment plan and the prediction of the treatment results.Methods22 adult patients treated with non-extraction method were treated with fixed appliance. And then dental casts were used to quantify the arch changes of the maxillary after the treatment.SPSS13.0 was used to analyze the changes.ResultsThe adult patients had significant dental changes of the maxillary after the non-extraction treatment.1.The arch width changed significantly after the non-extraction treatment. Both of the inter-canine distance and the inter-premolar distance increased significantly.2.The arch length increased. The anterior length and the entire length of the dental arch changed more significantly.ConclusionAfter the non-extraction treatment in adult patients with mild dentition overcrowding, the arch width and length can be increased to achieve satisfied results. |
