Objective:To discuss the value of surgical treatment of lower cervical fractures and dislocations by anterior decompression, bone graft and internal fixation surgery, and the affection of surgery time to surgical results.Method:Thirty-two cases of lower cervical fractures and dislocations were involved. All cases were operated in general anaesthesia by anterior decompression,reduction,auto-iliac graft and cervical spine locking plate fixation. They were divided into two groups to analyze the affection of surgical time.Result:27 cases got completely reduction, and 5 cases obtained more than 90% reduction. The follow-up was 14.6875±3.2273 months in average. The normal intervertebral height and lordosis were maintained, and there were no plates and screws complications.24 cases with incompletely neurological defect and 4 with completely neurological defect got improved postoperatively. The surgical results were prominent, and there was no significant difference between two groups. Conclusion:For lower cervical fractures and dislocations,an ideal reduction and immediately stability can be obtained by choosing anterior decompression, bone graft and internal fixation surgery. There is no significant difference between delayed surgery and early surgery in the surgical results.
