The Preliminary Study On The Mechanism Of The Processing Of Licorice

The licorice is one of the commonly used decoction pieces on TCM clinic.The prepared licorice is its common processed product.The emphasis points of its functions are turn to invigorating the spleen after mix-fring with honey ,which mechanism is not explicit yet. And relateive studies,such as composition study,efficacy study are still underdeveloped. The technique of its processing is not standardized either. What's more,some theoretical problems are still in dispute.So,it is needed to determine its processing technique,study on the different after the licorice mix-fring with honey and the mechanism of processing.This paper took the different processed products of the licorice as the research objects, carried on a series of research,such as the chemical composition comparison, the technique of its processing, the phannacologic effect of them. The actual content is as follows:Extracted the different ingredients and the different polar fractions from the licorice respectively.Compared with their different behavior on the thin layer chromatograph. The results showed that the total alkaloid, the carbohydrate content , the ethyl acetate extract and the methanol extract of the licorice had been changed after mix-fring with honey. The total alkaloid and the carbohydrate occurred qualitative changes and other changes of the different ingredients are because of the addition of the refine honey. According to components difference,TLC method was used to establish the qualitative differentiation method for the different processed products of the licorice.On the base of literature research of the the licorice ,the optimum condition of preparing the licorice had been established by screening of orthogonal design test according to the indexes of its effective components and appearance quality. The technique had been proved reasonable and feasible through verification test.Made the mouse spleen weakness model with the reserpine . Took the body weight, the internal organs index, the index of carbon granule cleanning up, the blood serum D- xylose level as the target to compare with the pharmacological action of the extractions of the different processed products . The results show that most extracts has the function to improved the spleen-deficient mice. The pharmacological actions of the different extracts of prepared radix licorice are stronger than others.It suggests that heating, join the the refine honey,or the simple addition of them, cannot equated to the prepared radix licorice. Only the prepared licorice fully reflect its effects on invigorating spleen. This also shows that processing licorice with honey make sense,and the changes of the phannacologic effects of the decoction pieces are releated to the changes of its chemical compositions.
