Objective:This thesis is intended to explore the classification and features of etiology and pathogenesis of aged-related cataract by analyzing the relevant factors. Methods: By virtue of investigating the lifestyle and symptoms of 76 patients, the writer summarizes and classifies the symptoms. Results: A positive correlation is presented between cortical and nuclear; but no obvious connection with posterior subcapsular; the time of using TV and computer connects with the degree of lens opacity; the liver and kidney deficiency accounts for 40.79%, followed by the weakness of spleen and stomach (35.53%) and liver disturbing type (23.68%); blood stasis appears in all kinds of different symptoms, accounting for 26.32% of all the cases. Conclusion: The etiology and pathogenesis of age-related cataract complies with the modern traditional Chinese medicine theory, that is, dysfunction of liver, spleen and kidney cause the disease. In addition, this study shows that blood stasis is not an individual phenomenon. Therefore, as a possible cause for age-related cataract, blood stasis should be given a clue attention.
