| Fagopyrum dibotrys (D.Don) Hara is one of the civil Chinese medical herbs naturally distributed in the south of China. It is convinced that the efficietive medical part of Fagopyrum dibotrys focused on its root tuber, with highly medical and nutrition values. The present studies are mainly focused on its cultivation, chemical constituent, evaluation of the nutrition and medicial values of root, as well as the antioxidant activities of root extractions. However, the antioxidantion activities of the aerial part of Fagopyrum dibotrys have received little attention to date. This dissertation focused on the thoroughly extract of antioxidant component in the root, stalk and leaf by the use of solvents with different polarity and the determination of the content of polyphenol and flavone, reducing power as well as the hydroxy radical and superoxide anion radical scavenging activity. The obtained results will facility the study of the antioxidantion activity of Fagopyrum Dibotrys (D.Don) Hara. The results are as following:1. The drying method affected the contents of polyphenol and flavone as well as the antioxidant activities of Fagopyrum Dibotrys significantly. The contents of polyphenol and flavone as well as the antioxidant activities of the extractions from the lyophilized root, stalk and leaf of Fagopyrum Dibotrys are much higher than those of the extractions from the airdried ones respectively. The contents of total polyphenol of the extractions from the lyophilized root, stalk and leaf of Fagopyrum Dibotrys were twice, 1.8 times and 1.8 times those of the extractions from the airdried ones; the contents of total flavone of the extractions from the lyophilized root, stalk and leaf of Fagopyrum Dibotrys were twice, 1.9 times and 2.5 times those of the extractions from the airdried ones; all the total reducing power of the extractions from the lyophilized root, stalk and leaf of Fagopyrum Dibotrys were twice those of the extractions from the airdried ones respectively.2. The contents of polyphenol and flavone as well as the antioxidant activities of the extractions from the lyophilized root, stalk and leaf of the biennial Fagopyrum Dibotrys are much higher than those of the extractions from the annual ones respectively, especial for the root extractions. The contents of total polyphenol and flavone and total reducing power of the extractions from the lyophilized root of biennial Fagopyrum Dibotrys were 1.5 times, twice and twice those of the extractions from the annual ones respectively.3. The leaf extractions have the highest antioxidant activities among all of the root, leaf and stalk extractions, and there are the weaker antioxidant activities for the root extractions of annual Fagopyrum Dibotrys than those of the stalk extractions, while for the biennial Fagopyrum Dibotrys, they are higher than the corresponding stalk extractions. These results is important and helpful for the expanding medicinal resource of Fagopyrum Dibotrys (D.Don) Hara and thus developing its potential medicial actions... |
