The Relationship Between T Staging, Differentiation And Cervical Metastasis In Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Objective:Hypopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the bad-prognosis head-neck tumors and cervical metastasis is the primary reason that makes therapy a failure.Currently,the study about cervical metastasis is not enough in or out of China.Our aim is to analyze the effect to cervical metastasis by differentiation and T staging,as a factor.So for such patients,especially CN0,it is a clinical significance whether we consider T staging and differentiation before RNDMethods:38 hypopharyngeal carcinoma patients who accepted treatments in the 2^nd hosipital of Jilin University from 2000 were reviewed retrospectively.We analyzed the relation between T staging,differentiation and cN,pN and evaluate it in statistics.Result:There is a dependablity between T staging and the cervical metastasis ratio while none between occult cervical metastasis and masculine of CN1.The differentiation has a dependablity with clinic staging,that is,well-differentiated patients centered in early period,but moderately differented ones have abundance in advanced stage.but it is not statisticaly significant.We need to amplify sample size to investigate it.Conclusion:There is a dependablity between T staging and the cervical metastasis ratio.The differentiation has a dependablity with clinic staging,so it has an effect in prognosis.but We need to amplify sample size to investigate it.
