Red Peony Rootsn is the dry root of Paeon ia lactiflora Pall or Pveitch ii L ynch. At present, the content of peony glucoside is used to control Red Peony Rootsn 's quality, but it cannot reflect really situation of Red Peony Rootsn, it's difficulty to control its quality. In view of the fact that the traditional Chinese medicines have the complex chemical compositions and their active constituent cannot really explicit condition, the fingerprint atlas technology that is one emerging plant medication examination method has the application in the overseas many countries and obtaines the international approval. In the paper, Red Peony Rootsn were extracted and determined with different analytical methods, such as high perfomance liquid chromatogrraphy and lipuid chromatography-mass spectrum.the detrmining the content and fingerprint of Red Peony Rootsn. The establishment of method on different samples is valuable for quality conthol of Red Peony Rootsn. It is also significant for the further research on Red Peony Rootsn.This distertation,which uses HPLC and schemefrom"Chromap Chromafinger V0.9", prosecutes some researches in Fingerprints Red Peony Rootsn which include: (1) the selection of chromatogram condition which made some selection and confirmationo- fvarious samples bydifferentdistillmeans, distillsolvent, thequantityofenteredsample, temperature, flowingvelocity, checking spectrum wave,the proportion of flowing phases,and method of rushing;(2) methodology which is a research method by calculating the time and RSD of relative area preserved from the peak number of chromatogram, and to assess the apparatus'accuracy and recurring and stability. (3) erecting Fingerprints Atlas which utilizes the calculating results by the program of "Chromap Chromafinger V0.9"to construct the dactylogram figure by the data of HPLC of 10 batch of, Red Peony Rootsn and deduce to a complete instituted dactylogram figure;(4) mensurating of samples which is by the technique of collating the dactylogram figures and sample figures from the instituted figures which are deduced from"Chromap Chromafinger V0.9"and determine the eligibility.In addition,the main components were assigned in accordance with the m/z and the retention time of peaks.
