Objective:To recognize some shoulder anatomic structure on MRI and to investigate the value of 3D-fiesta sequence in the diagnosis of shoulder disease.Material and Methods:3 alcohol-formalin-glycerol fixed shoulder joints were dissected.The dependency structure of shoulder were reviewed.The tissues of superior glenohumeral ligament,the long head of biceps tendon,the antero-middle part and antero-inferior part of articular capsule,glenoid labrum were examined.10 samples of liberated shoulders and 60 shoulders of well-being volunteers were reviewed.Results:1,Glenoid labrum,long head of biceps tendon,superior glenohumeral ligaments, middle glenohumeral ligaments,antero-inferior part of articular capsule were constituted with dense connective tissue,but the degree of relative density and rarefaction was different.2,The distance of subcoracoid was 8.84±2.97mm.The distance of the sub-acromion was 5.23±1.05mm.3,There was no statistic significance in showing the contrast to noise ratio(CNR) of muscle belly and tendon between T1WI and PDWI(p=0.243).PDWI was not superior to T1WI in showing the contrast of muscle belly and tendon.The CNR of muscle belly and tendon on T1WI and PDWI was higher than on 3D-fiesta imaging(p =0.000).The CNR of muscle belly and tendon On T2WI was minimum(p=0.000).There were significantly differences in showing the CNR of fat and muscle belly on T1WI,T2WI,PDWI and 3D-fiesta imaging(p<0.05).3D-fiesta sequence was superior to T1WI,PDWI and T2WI.The CNR of fat and muscle belly on T1WI was higher than on PDWI(p = 0.000).Conclusions:1,Routine MRI can demonstrate the dependency structure of shoulder clearly.The distance of subcoracoid was 8.84±2.97mm.The distance of sub-acromion was 5.23±1.05mm. 2,The 3D-fiesta imaging with muti-angle reconstruction is better in showing the coracohumeral ligament,coracoacromial ligament,coracoclavicular ligament, capsulolabral complex and the bone of shoulder,combing with oblique coronal and oblique sagittal imaging of the fat-suppression sequence,the diseases of shoulder can be diagnosed.
