Objective:With the social development, health in requests for common chronic diseases has gradually increased, people are not only concerned about that the disease can be cured, and how long survived, but also pay more attention to the quality of life. Though osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and so on can affect the patient's life, but more patients are suffering from long-term pain that caused by joint, muscle, damage, disability, loss of work, financial burden, pressure on the heart, treatment side effects and so on, which are serious impact on patient's quality of life. The use of prevalence, incidence, and other traditional indicators evaluating the result from Chronic joint disease mentioned above have been unable to objectively evaluate the seriousness of the diseases. So, we try to select a special geriatrics group - patients which are within the clinical diagnosis of osteoarthritis of knees for samples and, compare to the SF-36 scale, research and establish a new quality of life scale (NWS) based on China's national conditions. And through the scale, provides scientific methods for an objective assessment of the disease interventions, and an objective evaluation of the clinical efficacy.Method:From the third affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, select OA cases that suit the diagnostic criteria for application of QOL-KOA scale investigation, evaluation, the scale reliability and validity, sensitivity, and the results were compared with the normal group, making further evaluation of its application Rationality.Results:This scale testing of the same person twice in the evaluation of the total score and the entry points between the ICC are 0. 78 to 0. 91; Different persons for two different evaluation of the total score and the entry points between the ICC are 0.75 to 0.87. The scale has a high reliability and validity, and it can accurately reflect the knee's conditions and functional status for patients with knee osteoarthritis, and provide a simple and feasible scientific method for clinical evaluation of patients with knee osteoarthritis.
