Background:Based on internal and external investigation, the incidence of congenital heart disease(CHD) is about 7‰—8‰.Depending the above data, the number of infant who gets it in our country is about 1,500,000 every year, and the atrial septal defect heart disease(ASD) is one of the most ordinary CHD.Now,there are two main methods to treat this disease, one is surgical operation and one is intervention.Because of less trauma and rapid recovery, the intervention is not just the complement and substitute for surgical operation, but also the first choose for some suitable patients. So,the research in cardiac morphology, ventricular function, Hemodynamics complication and measuring the effect after transcatheter closure is considerable concerned. Objective:To evaluate the changes of the cardiac morphology and ventricular function and Hemodynamics after transcatheter closure of atrial septal defect(ASD) using occluder device.Methods:60 patients with secundum- type ASD(18male,42 female)were closed with occluder device.Echocardiography were made in 3 days,1 month,3 months and 6 months after the procedure. The diameter of atrial septal and device is respectively 23.4±6.5mm and 28.8±6.0mm.Results:The right ventricular end- diastolic volume(RVEDV),right ventricular end-systolic volume(RVESV),right ventricular ejection fraction(RVEF),peak of pulmonary valve velocity(Pvmas),the E velocity and A velocity at tricuspid valve,QP/QS,the ratio of occipitofrontal to left- right diameter of left ventricle, the occipitofrontal and left-right diameter of right ventricle and the occipitofrontal of right atrium decreased significantly 3 days,1 month,3 months and 6 months after proceduce(compared before the procedure P<0.01).And the above data of the last three groups also reduced gradually(compared after the procedure of 3 days group P<0.05).The left ventricular end- diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),peak of aortic valve velocity(Avmas),the E velocity and A velocity at mitral valve, the ratio of occipitofrontal to left- right diameter of right ventricle, the occipitofrontal and left-right of left ventricular diameter and anterior-posterior diamerter of left atrium increased significantly 3days,1 month,3 months and 6 months after procedure(compared before the procedure P<0.01),Also the above data of the last three groups increasd gradually(compared after the procedure of 3 days group P<0.05).Conclusion:Transcatheter closure of atrial septal defect with occluder device can eliminate the abnormal shunt successfully and decrease the volume load of the right heart and improve left ventricular systolic function and geometry significantly. The TTE is a cheap and convenient way to evaluate cardial transcatheter closure.
