Background Thyroid cancer is one of the most common malignant tumora in endocrine system. In recent years much data show that the incidence of thyroid cancer has increased year by year trend. Thyroid cancer is receiving increasing attention for the past few years, moreover it is the research hotspot in the field of endocrine tumor system. Neck lymph node metastasis is an important feature of thyroid cancer infiltration. So we can combine various methods to improve the diagnostic rate before surgery, and this will provide much more reference for us selecting the operation programs and clinical treatments.Objective To Research the expression of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in the thyroid tumor tissue and its clinical significance, and analyze the relationship between flow parameters assessed by color doppler and TGF-β1 in thyroid malignancy, evaluate clinical value.Material and Method Collect forty-two cases of thyroid tumors in patients with pathological tissue and stained their TGF-β1 immunohistochemically, through the cell staining intensity and color the proportion of cells to determine the tissue integrated TGF-β1 expression of strong or weak, Analyze TGF-β1 in thyroid having difference between benign and malignant tumors or not and thus assess its clinical significance; groop thyroid malignant tumors according to whether with neck lymph node metastasis, research the relevance of two groups between color Doppler flow parameters and TGF-β1.Results 1. Compare to the TGF-β1 expression rate of thyroid benign and malignant tissue, the benign group is 31.25 percent, the malignant group is 73.08 percent, there have statistical significance in the two groups(P<0.05).2. Compare between thyroid malignancy with lymph node metastasis group and without lymph node metastasis group:(1). The Color Doppler flow signals II,III class percent of the groop with lymph node metastasis is more than the groop without lymph node metastasis, bur there have not statistical significance in the two groups(P>0.05).(2). Flow spectrum measured in the two groups show high-speed and high-resistance characteristics, PSV of the groop without lymph node metastasis is 17.9±8.9, RI of it is 0.71±0.06; PSV of the groop with lymph node metastasis is 0.82±0.12, RI of it is 0.82±0.12, and there have statistical significance in the two groups(P<0.05).(3). The TGF-β1 expression rates of two groops are high, the groop without lymph node metastasis is 58.33 percent, the groop with lymph node metastasis is 85.7 percent, there have statistical significance in the two groups(P<0.05).(4). Analyze the relationship between flow parameters assessed by color doppler and TGF-β1 in the two groops, there obviously have positive correlation between TGF-β1 and PSV,TGF-β1 and RI throuth Spearman method(r=0.5015,P<0.05;r=0.5513,P<0.01).Conclusions TGF-β1 in malignant thyroid tumor was significantly higher than that of benign tumor, It is an important factor that promoting thyroid tumor grow, invade, metastasis. Color doppler flow parameters and TGF-β1 of the groop with lymph node metastasis are higher than the groop without lymph node metastasis, furthermore there have positive correlation between tthem. They may provide more reference information for us judging malignant thyroid whether with cervical lymph node metastases or not before operation.
