Learning disabilities has been the general concern of people. Many studies have found that although learning disabilities have normal intelligence, their academic performance did not reach the level of development of normal individuals.There are more or less problems and deficiencies in perception, memory, thinking and the areas of spatial cognition in learning disabilities,and these seriously affected the quality of education in schools and individual development of physical and mental health.In order to know the visul-spatial imagery, this study is established in the Shepard's imagery rotation theory and based on the existing research , using the classic mental rotation research paradigm, focusing on the type of study materials to children's mental rotation process, and providing some empirical data to school education.In this study, 417 of a primary school grades 4 to 6 students as study objects, we use the generic screening criteria for learning disabilities and select reading disabilities 15, math disabilities 14 and 15 normal control children as subjects. Letters R, characters learn and figure 4, respectively as a means of stimulating material for computer experiments, experimental design models are 2 (materials direction)×6 (rotation angle)×3 (sample type) mixed design.Experimental procedures are prepared by Stim2 software systems, all stimulates are shown in the computer center, subjects are asked to ensure the premise of the right to judge the response as soon as possible,record the reaction time and the correct rate ,then using SPSS 13.0 software for multi-factor analysis of variance and LSD and so on, the conclusion of the study are as follows:First, for all subjects, the material quality at the process of mental rotation has significant impact, it illuminate The processing of different materials in different.Second, compared with normal children, at the characters, Chinese characters and the number of experiments, there were no significant differences in right rate between learning disabilities and normal children,it illuminate learning disabilities have the ability to mental rotation;but there was a significant differences in reaction time, indicating that children with learning disabilities in the mental rotation ability to operate is limited.
