Experimental Study Of Chinese Puerarin On Antagonism To Reproductive Toxicity Of Cigarette

Objective: Recent research found that cigarettes are a lot of the reproductive system toxicity, Sperm quality as reflected in the male reproductive capacity is key indicators for its reliable and widely applications in clinical and scientific research, of which the total number of sperm motility and sperm abnormality rate, respectively, reflecting the different aspects of male fertility. LDH-x isozyme which was a key enzyme in sperm energy metabolism had relation with the sperm of the vitality and fertility. LDH-x is of important significance in diagnosis of male infertility and study of the causes. Oxidative damage had also played a significant role in it. Chinese medicine practitioners believe that Puerarin can destruct toxicity. The influence of cigarette smoking on sperm quality in mice and the antagonistic effect of puerarin have been studied to reveal the detoxification mechanism of puerarin to the toxicity of cigarette on the reproductive system,which will provide a scientific basis for prevention and treatment to male infertility.Methods: The study of passive smoking in mice aimed at observing the Puerarin on testis and epididymis organ coefficient, sperm count, sperm motility, abnormal sperm rate, sperm lactate dehydrogenase LDH-x activity, testicular tissue superoxide dismutase ( SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content, and exploring the detoxification mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine to cigarettes. Results: Puerarin could improve the general condition of mice by anti-free radical damage and ant-injuryt, reduce sperm deformity caused by cigarettes, increase activity of sperm and LDH-x, increase the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and reduce the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in testicular tissue. These results suggest that Puerarin can destroy the toxicity of tobacco. Conclusion: The tobacco can reduce the sperm quality and the damage enhances as the dose increasing. Puerarin can be decreases the damage of tobacco on male reproductive system.The appropriate application of traditional Chinese medicine may help to improve sperm quality Puerarin.
