Objective: The research came to the optimal Chinese and Western medicine therapeutic schedule for Bell's palsy, by means of variance analysis in orthogonal design to study the 4 factors of Hormone, vitamin, traditional Chinese medicine and moxibustion, using Sunnybrook (Toronto) facial grading system standard and facial nerve function effectual time for the objective indicator, to guide the clinical doctor to reduce sequelae and complication, and then to provide advice to the further stricter multicenter, randomized controlled trial.Method: The research observed 48 Bell's palsy patients, using randomized control, which were divided into 16 groups. Results: Based on variance analysis of scores of Sunnybrook (Toronto) facial grading system standard, it acquired that there are significant discrepancies between error and vitamin, traditional Chinese medicine (P<0.01), and so did the interaction of vitamin and traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and moxibustion, hormone and moxibustion(P<0.01 ,P<0.05).By analysis of Four fold tables, the four factors should get from level 1.Then the research obtained that the best treatment plan was that acupuncture should be combined with hormone, vitamin, traditional Chinese medicine and moxibustion. 2.The variance analysis based on the effectual time of the facial nerve function obtained that there were significant differences between hormone and error(P<0.01).It should get from level 1 the best treatment plan was that acupuncture should be combined with hormone.Conclusion:It can significantly improve the scores of Sunnybrook (Toronto) facial grading system standard, using acupuncture combined with hormone, vitamin, traditional Chinese medicine and moxibustion.The combination of acupuncture and hormonecan can curtail the effectual time of facial nerve.According to the above knowable results, the research obtained that the best treatment for Bell's palsy was acupuncture should be combined with hormone, vitamin, traditional Chinese medicine and moxibustion.Because this treatment can not only significantly improve the function of facial nerve, but also curtail the effectual time of facial nerve.
