The Studay Of Expression And Correlation Of Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1α And Inhibitor Of Apoptosis Factor Survivin In Gliomas

Objective:To explore the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor HIF-1αand anti-apoptosis factor Survivin in different grading gliomas and investigate the correlation between them.Methods:Fourty-two surgical cases of gliomas from 28 males and 14 femals in The Third Clinic College of Kunming Medical College during 2006-2008 were choosen.Age ranged from 15 years to 53 years,average 41.2 years.Eight controlled cases came from internal decompression in brain contusion.The age ranged from 18 years to 42 years,average 28.3years.The sp immunohistochemical method was used to measure the expression of HIF-1αand Survivin in 42 cases of gliomas.Results:(1).The positive rate of expression of HIF-1αin gliomas was 64.3% (27/42).However,it was 0.0%(0/8) in normal brain tissure.There was statistical significans (P=0.001).(2)The positive rate of expression of HIF-1αinⅠ-Ⅱgrades of gliomas was 42.1%(8/19).However,it was 82.6%(19/23)inⅢ-Ⅳgrades of gliomas.There was statistical significans(χ~2=7.435,P=0.006).(3)The positive rate of expression of survivin in gliomas was 59.5%(25/42).However,it was 0.0%(0/8) in normal brain tissure.There was statistical significans(P=0.004).(4)The positive rate of expression of survivin inⅠ-Ⅱgrades of gliomas was42.1%(8/19).However,it was 73.9%(17/23) inⅢ-Ⅳgrades of gliomas.There was statistical significans(χ~2=4.369,P=0.037).(5).There were 23 cases survivin-positive of HIF-1α-positive,whereas 13 cases surviving-nagtive of HIF-1α-nagtive.The expression of HIF-1αis correlated with the expression of survivin in gilomas(χ~2=20.663,P≤0.001, r_s=0.701).Conclusions:It is the first time to measure the expression of both HIF-1αand survivin and analyse the correlation between HIF-1αand survivin in gliomas for this study.The expression of HIF-1αand survivin in gliomas are much higher than in normal brain tissue.Moreover,with the grade of pathology becoming higher,the positive rate of expression becomes more higher.The expression of HIF-1αis much correlated with the exoression of survivin in gliomas.These demonstrate that HIF-1αand survivin are much related to the apoptosis and angiogenesis of gliomas and the degree of benign,as well as play an very important role in the mechanism of generation and development of gliomas.HIF-1αand survivin may be to become the promising tumor marker and aim of gene treatment.
