Purpose: Basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) promotes tissue injury repair and capillary angiogenesis. Recently researches show that bFGF play an important role on myocardial cytoprotection, myocardial injury repair and myocardial capillary angiogenesis. This study observes bFGF expression, myocardial injury repair and myocardial capillary angiogenesis after exhaustive eccentric exercise, then analysis the effects of exhaustive eccentric exercise on bFGF expression, to explore the relationship between bFGF expression and myocardial injury repair. This study provides experimental basis on the adaptive mechanism of heart and exercise from molecular level.Method: Sixty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats are divided into ten groups at random: sedentary control group, 0h group, 1h group, 2h group, 3h group, 4h group, 1d group, 3d group, 5d group, 10d group. Exercise group performed 200 min treadmill exercise at 16 m/min,on a -16°incline,with a 5 min rest period between two 100 min running bouts. At the different time points, many parameters are measured: bFGF expression(immunohistochemistry), myocardial organization structure, myocardial capillary angiogenesis(he staining) by optical microscope. The data are analysed with SPSS 14.0.Results: (1) After exhaustive eccentric exercise, the sedentary control group's bFGF expression increases, 1h group's decreases, 2h group's continues to increase, 4h group's , 1d group's, 3d group's, 5d group's, 10d group's bFGF expression decreases gradually, but higher than sedentary control group's. (2) After exhaustive eccentric exercise, 0h group's myocardial injury higher than 1h group's, 2h group's myocardial injury aggravates gradually, 3d group's myocardial is most serious, 5d group's and 10 group's myocardial injury repairs gradually. (3) After exhaustive eccentric exercise, 0h group's myocardial capillary temporary increase, 1h group's increase gradually, continues to 10d group is still increaseing. 1d group's, 3d group's, 5d group's, 10d group's myocardial capillary is higher than sedentary control group's.Conclusion: This study bFGF higher expression and dynamic change. With bFGF's biological function display, the number of myocardial capillary increases and myocardial injury repairs.
