Objective: To analyze the therapeutic efficacy of Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKRS) for primary trigeminal neuralgia using two target points. Methods: selected 31 trigeminal neuralgia patients treated by Gamma Knife dual-target treatment and randomly selected Gamma Knife single-target treatment, respectively. both treatment operated on a masep SRRS Gamma knife unit, with the collimator of 4mm, 20% isodose line was tangential to the brainstem surface. The prescription central dose varied from 70 to 90 Gy, and the isodose was 50% in the two groups. dual-target treatment's target located in the trigeminal root entry zone (REZ), and near the trigeminal ganglion, single-target treatment pointed in the REZ. using McGiLL pain scale to evaluate the therapeutic effect by comparing the Pain relief of before-treaemt, 3-month after treatment, 6-month after treatment and 1-year after. Results: Follow-up ranged from 12 to 14 months, two groupe using the pain McGiLL table Investigat time section are 3-month after treatment, 6-month after treatment and 1-year after. Looked from the grading situation, all pain scale of after-treatment within dual-target treatment is lower than that within single-treatment. pain scale of after treatment is lower than that of before treatment, single-target treatment and dual-target treatment's target has the effect time to be slow,r-ray's irradiation time amounts to when a half year the effect is the best. The most patient aches vanish completely between three months to a half year. Once treatment maintenance long time, one year later the curative effect continued to be still steady, But does not surpass treats latter 3-month after treatment's effect.30 cases treated by dual-target treatment were effective ,but there is 1 case of Complications, 23 cases treated by dual-target treatment were effective ,but there is1 case of Complication and 6 case of recurrence. Conclusion: GKRS for trigeminal neuralgiausing two-target and single-target points significantly improved patient's survival quality and the short-term curative effect, But two-target treatment can raise effectiveness and the survival quality obviously, In a greater degree improved patient's survival quality and the short-term curative effect and improve pain relief and also may decrease complications. The pain McGiLL table Investigation the demonstration ache continues the patient who reduces or reduces temporarily to survive the quality to have the enhancement. The forward curative effect waits for further observes and the comparison.
