[Objective]To explore the effects of APS on the serum levels of IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 and IgA,IgG contents in ulcerative Colitis model rat. To survey the effect of APS on the ulcerative colitis model rat's immune system in intestines mucous membrane,and on the prospects in treating ulcerative colitis with traditional Chinese medicine.[Methods]UC model rats were induced by the immunity compound/formalin which is similar to the pathogenesis of human.The rats were randomly divided into four groups:normal group,UC group,APS group, and SASP group.APS group were administered with 75%APS soiution,SASP group were administered with SASP solution,UC group were administered with 0.9%NaCl solution,and the normal group were administered with nothing.In the end of treatment,all index were examined,such as the the levels of IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 and IgA IgG contents in the serum.All the rats were killed to get their colonic mucosa tissues after 4-weeks' treatment.To observe the colonic mucosa pathological changes,we used statistical software of SPSS12.0 for for data statistical analysis;count data expressed with(?)±s,compared with test.[Results] The levels of IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 in serum of the UC group was significantly lower than the normal group(P<0.01), The IgA,IgG contents was significantly higher,too(P<0.05) after 4-weeks' treatment,The levels of IL-4 and IL-13 in serum of the SASP group and APS group was all significantly higher than the UC group(P<0.01),the levels of IL-5 in serum of the APS group was no significant difference when compared with the UC group(P>0.05),The levels of IL-5 of the SASP group was significantly higher than the UC group(P<0.01);The levels of IL-4 and IL-13 in serum of the SASP group was significantly higher than the SASP group(P<0.01).The IgA contents of the APS group and SASP group was no significant difference when compared with the UC group(P>0.05),The IgG contents of the SASP group and APS group was significantly higher than the UC group(P<0.01),The IgG contents of the APS group was significantly higher than the SASP group(P<0.01).[Conclusion]The change of IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of UC,that may be associated with the increase of IgG contents.The result show that APS had significantly improved the mucous membrane immune funtions of the ulcerative colitis model rat,and had better theraprutic effect on UC.
