| Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Proximal humeral locking plate(LPHP) for the treatment of proximal humeral fractures. Methods:20 cases of proximal humeral fractures from Jun.2006 to Jun.2008 were treated with Proximal humeral locking plate, including 6 male and 14 female. The ages of the subjects were 39~76 years (average 61 age). Nine cases are in the left side, and 11 cases are in the right side . In 20 cases, 2 cases of sports injury, one cases of traffic injury, 17 cases for the fall; 17 cases of acute injury, 3 cases of old injury. All cases were treated by Proximal humeral locking plate and early postoperative functional exercise for shoulder. We use the absolute value of Constant-Murley score and Neer scoring system for fracture treatment efficacy assessment. Results: All the patients were available for folow-up after the second operation from 6 to 20 months. They were healed after the reoperation. The healing time varied from 3 to 6 months, averaged 4.2months. Infection, nerve and vascular injury, plate fracture and screw loosening or cut out and humeral head necrosis did not occur. Absolute value in accordance with the Constant-Murley score and Neer scoring system for fracture treatment efficacy assessment, the fine rate of joint function was 90.0%.Conclusions:LPHP can provide the stabilization of the fracture, decrease the rate of local blood circulation disorder and be conducive to the early functional training and functional rehabilitation. It is an effective method in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures. |
