Objective:To explore the relationships between the level of expression of Fas in CD3~+ CD8~+T lymphocyte in the peripheral blood of patients with lupus nephritis distinguished active stage and inactive stage and TCM Syndromes and disease activity.Methods:Fifty-six LN cases were recruited in this study,in which 38 cases were in active stage, and 18 cases were in inactive stage. The apoptosis level of PBL,CD3~-CD8~+, CD3~+CD8~+Fas were all detected by flow cytometry.Results:①Compared with the inactive LN,the level of Annexin V on PBL from patients with active LN was higher(P<0.01),as well as compared the normal(P<0.01); compared with the normal, the inactive LN's was no statistics difference(P>0.05).②The level of CD3~+CD8~+ of the active LN was not significantly different from that of the inactive (P>0.05);but compared with the normal, both were higher(P<0.01 ).③The level of Fas on CD3~+CD8~+ was the same as CD3~+CD8~+between the three groups.④The level of Annexin V on PBL from patients with the inactive and the active both were correlated positively with the level of CD3~+CD8~+ and CD3~+CD8~+Fas(P<0.01);the level of CD3~+CD8~+ was correlated positively with the level of CD3~+CD8~+Fas(P<0.01).⑤The level of CD3~+CD8~+ and Fas on CD3~+CD8~+from the Toxic Heat to Flourishing group were not significantly different from type of deficiency of both QI and YIN(P>0.05).Compared with type of deficiency of both QI and YIN,the level of Annexin V on PBL from Toxic Heat to Flourishing group was higher (P<0.01).Conclusion:①Auto-antigen is still existing in the inactive LN,or activated CD3~+CD8 ~+T lympholeukocyte of the inactive does not reach immune homeostasis.②The level of Annexin V on PBL might be one of internal agents formed different TCM syndrome types of LN.
