Objectives:To evaluate the analytical performance of the Roche E170 modular immunoassay analyzer and compare with Abbott AxSYM system. Methods:To analyze E170's measurement imprecision, accuracy, linearity range, reference interval, functional sensitivity and sample carryover and finish methodology comparison with Abbott AxSYM by testing analytes, such as AFP,CEA,TPSA,FPSA,FERR.Results:All within-run imprecision CV less than 5%, and all between-day imprecision less than 10%. Accuracy, linearity range and reference interval are well according with reference values supplied by Roche diagnostics. Functional sensitivity values of TPSA and FPSA are less than reference values. There is no sample carryover almostly. Both of Roche E170 and Abbott AxSYM have beautiful correlation with each other. Conclusions:The results of measurement imprecision, accuracy, linearity range, reference interval and functional sensitivity of E170 are wonderful and acceptable. It can be widely used in clinical laboratory tests. E170 may gives different results of CEA,TPSA and FERR compared to AxSYM. The difference should be taken notice of by laboratory workers and doctors.
