The Relactionship Between Types Of Adult Colles Fracture Carpal Instability, And Function Of Wrist Joint

Objective To investigate the relactionship between types of Colles fracture,carpal instability,and function of wrist joint.Method According to types of Colles fracture made by Frykman,104 cases of Colles fracture were studied to examine wrist joint anteroposterior and lateral view of radiography at the time of pre-reduction,post-reducution and removal of extra-fixation.Objective eriteria was checked for function of wrist joint,functions restoration between tow groups with or without carpal instability and functions restoration between eight types of Colles fracture were compared.Results According to the classification of carpal instability made by Linscheid,we found main types of carpal instability that is dorsal instercalated segment instability(DISI) and dorsal sublaxation. Incidence of carpal instability was 35.6 per cent(37/1040),Incidence of carpal instability was 36.6 per cent in extra-articular Colles fracture with ulnar styloid fracture,Incidence of carpal instability was59.5 per cent in intra-articular Colles fracture with ulnar styloid fracture,Incidence of carpal instability was 45.5per cent in Colles fracture with radiocapal joint.Incidence of carpal instability was 44.4per cent in Colles fracture with distal radioulnar joint,Incidence of carpal instability was 76.5 per cent in Colles fracture with distal radioulnar joint & radiocapal joint.2 Functions of wrist joint in case(?)ith carpal instability wereinferior to that with simple Colles fracture after frature union.(P＜0.05).3 According to the classification of Colles fracture made by Frykman, Funcyions of wrist joint with intra-articular Colles fracture had inferio to that with extra-articular Colles fracture(P＜0.01).There are significant differences between radiocapal joint,distal radioulnar,and distal radioulnar joint & radiocapal joint(P＜0.01).but there were no significant differences between the cases ulnar styloid fracture and the cases without ulnar styloid fracture(P＞0.05).Conclusion It should be noticed wether carpal instability in Colles fracture,carpal instability,Colles fracture with radiocapal joint,Colles fracture with distal radioulnar,and Colles fracture with,and distal radioulnar joint & radiocapal joint have significant effect on function of wrist joint.Different method shoud be took According to the classification of Colles fracture made by Frykman.
