Clinical Evaluation Of Endoscopic Therapy On Biliary Pancreatitis

Objective: To explore the clinical features of acute biliary pancreatitis and the evaluation of ERCP in treatment of biliary pancreatits.Methods: 76 patients of ABP treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from January 2006 to July 2008 were analyzed on clinieal materials. These cases were divided into endoscopic treatment group (n=20) and non-endoscopic treatment group (n=56) according to their treatment methods. Through clinical observation and follow-up to see wether the average days to be in hospital, the recurrence rate and the time of pain relief between the two groups had any significant importance.Results: Of the 76 with ABP, 57.9% of whom were male (n=44) ,and female 42.1% (n=32) , with mean age of 61.9 years. The main cases of ABP is cholelithiasis and biliary tract infection. 53 cases were combined with hepatic function damaged (69.7%). All the patients got followed up visits for average 20 (ranges4-33) months (97.4%). 20 in 76 cases were accepted ERCP, 0 cases of recurrence, other therapies 56 cases, 11 cases of recurrence, the recurrence rate of ERCP group was significantly lower than other groups (P<0.05); the hospital days of other groups was significantly lower than ERCP group (P<0.01); the time of pain relief of ERCP groups was significantly lower than other groups (P<0.01).Conclusions: ABP remains a frequent disease, especially in the middle-aged and old. The incidence between man and woman is no signi- ficantly different. The most frequent etiologocal factors is cholelithiasiss. The clinical symptom is abdominal pain. With high recurrence and long time of easement of pain if just conservative treatmen, the application of ERCP in the Patients of ABP can prevent its recurrence and shorten the time pain relief.
