Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate whether and how the administration of pulsed ultrasound therapy affects acute skeletal muscle contusion healing in rats. Methods: This experiment using weight-dropping model into rats skeletal acute contusion model. Check the health of 36 adult SD rats, weighing approximately equal. A random number table to extract from a blank 12 for the group, the remaining model in rats to a total of 24. After the success model, and then using random number table to rats were divided into treatment group and control group, 12 in each group. Rats in each group after re-D4 and D8 were randomly divided into two sub-groups of six. Treatment group and control group starting from the model followed by the next day to give a 10-minute treatment of non-heat wave, D4 group two days, on the fourth day of the execution; D8 group six days, on the eighth day of the execution. Without any gaps to deal with rats were also killed on the fourth day and the eighth day. The rats were put to death row method of cervical dislocation, lateral skin incision model, showing three calf muscle to observe the healing of muscle injury. After observation of the lower leg from the side triceps for HE staining and immunohistochemical staining to observe the degree of muscle swelling, muscle fiber with the situation, inflammatory cell infiltration and expression of IGF-I differences in intensity.Results:1.Macroscopically: The blank group ruddy muscle tissue, no swelling and bleeding points, D4 and D8 had no significant difference between subgroups; control group, more pronounced muscle tissue swelling, bleeding can be seen a small number of scattered points, D8 and D4 subgroup than light; treatment muscle light the situation is worse than the control group and subgroup D8 muscle tissue swelling and no obvious bleeding point.2.The appearance of HE-staining : Blank group neatly arranged muscle fibers, D4 and D8 had no significant difference between subgroups; treatment group and control group, as well as sub-D4 and D8 to compare subgroups with different muscle fiber; inflammatory cells in the treatment group than the control group.3.The integrated optical density(IOD) of IGF-I: Specimens in the treatment group D4 and D8 subgroup IGF-I expression than the control group and blank group, a statistically significant (P <0.05), and D8 subgroup D4 subgroup than the IGF-I expression more statistically significance (P <0.05).Conclusions:1.Ultrashort wave treatment may increase IGF-I expression in skeletal muscle and promote healing of acute injury.2.Ultrashort wave therapy on acute skeletal muscle contusion to promote the role of healing and, in a certain period of time, with the extension of treatment time, treatment effect.
