Objective:To study the characters of Multidetector-Row Spiral Computed Tomography(MSCT)perfusion imaging in Breast cancer, paratumor tissues(0—1cm,1—2cm,2—3cm away from tumor tissue) and breast benign tumors.Methods:There were 71 patients including 45 breast cancer and 26 benign breast tumor.A conventional breast MSCT scan was obtained as a routine to locate the breast lesions.Dynamic scans were performed at the location of the lesions with 50ml of nonionic contrast administration (300mgI/ml) at the speed of 6ml/s.Data postprocessing was performed on Siemens workstation using tumor analyzing software in the package of Body Perfusion.Pseudo-color perfusion images were gained,so as to the time-density curve(TDC)and perfusion parameters by region of interest(ROI)evaluation.Chi-Square Tests,Independent Samples T-Test, Paired Samples T-Test and randomized block design analysis of variance were applied to compare the TDC type and perfusion parameter values of breast cancer,paratumor tissues(0—1cm,1—2cm,2—3cm away from tumor tissue),breast benign tumors and normal breast.Perfusion parameters include maximum intensity projection(MIP),blood flow(BF),blood volume(BV),permeability surface(PS).Results:The TDC of normal breast tissues were flat-type.81.82%, 82.61%breast tumors with outflow-type or platform-type TDC were breast cancer,And there was 81.25%of benign breast mass presented as inflow-type,which was flat-type in both paratumor tissues(2—3cm from tumor)and opposite normal breast tissue,outflow-type in 82.2%of paratumor tissues 0—1cm and 1—2cm from tumor and platform-type in 80.0%of paratumor tissues 0—1cm and 1—2cm from tumor.The means of MIP,BF,BV and PS in breast cancer were 67.38±9.60HU, 65.48±19.48ml/100ml/min,8.21±2.77ml/100ml, 19.85±8.15ml/100ml/min respectively.The means of MIP,BF,BV,and PS of breast cancer were statistically higher than those of benign breast mass and opposite normal breast tissue,and which of paratumor tissues 1cm and 2cm from tumor were also higher than paratumor tissues2—3cm from tumor and opposite normal breast tissue.While there was no other statistical difference found between paratumor tissues 1cm and 2cm from tumor in means of MIP,BF,BV,and PS.There was no other statistical difference found between paratumor tissues 2—3cm from tumor and opposite normal breast tissue in means of MIP,BF,BV,and PS.There was no other statistical difference found between tissues 0—1cm,1—2cm,2—3from benign breast mass and opposite normal breast tissue in means of MIP,BF,BV,and PS。Conclusion:There are different MSCT perfusion characters among breast cancer,breast benign tumor and opposite normal breast tissue, while are helpful to differentiate the breast cancer or benign breast tumors.There are different MSCT perfusion characteristics between paratumor tissues 0—1cm,1—2cm from tumor and paratumor tissues 2—3cm from tumor,opposite normal breast tissue.
