Clinical Observation Of Radicular Sciatica Treating By Electroacupuncture Combined With Massage

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of treating radicular sciatica with the combination of electroacupuncture and massage,as compared with electroacupuncture only or massage,in hope to discover a more effective and conventional method.Methods:Acupoints of acupuncture and massage are selected according to the Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic principles.The therapeutic effect of the test group(electroacupuncture plus massage) and the control groups(electroacupuncture only and massage ) are observed by means of VAS,BRS-6behaviour grading.Result:①Analysis using the X~2 test shows that the therapeutic effect of the test and control group is significantly different(P＜0.01,P＜0.01).The effectiveness of the test group is better than that of the control groups,with rates of 50%,25%and 20% respectively.The overall effectiveness of the test group is also better than that of the control group,with rates of 100%85%and,80%respectively.Thus,the test group' s therapeutic effet is better than that of the control groups.②Treating radicular sciatica with the combined therapy of electroacupuncture and massage can significantly reduce the VAS,BRS-6 and scores.Conclusion:The study shows that the combined treatment of electroacupuncture and as compared with treatment with electroacupuncture alone,or with massage alone, can greatly improve the symptoms of radicular sciatica,thus giving the patients better mobility.
