To study the expression of ryanodine receptor1 and CaV1.3 in corpus cavernosum of castrated rats and investigate the mechanism of erectile dysfunction in relation to androgen deficiency. Methods : 40 SD rats of 8 weeks were randomly devided into:sham-operated 2 weeks group(A group), sham-operated 4 weeks group(B group),2 weeks castrated group(Cgroup),4 weesk castrated group(D group).To determine the serum testosterone level and using immunohistochemistry staining,RT-PCR to investigate the expression of ryanodine receptor1 and CaV1.3 in corpus cavernosum of castrated rats after 2 and 4 weeks operation respectively. Results: The serum testosterone in C,D group was significantly decreased as compared with A and B group(P<0.05). RyR1 and CaV1.3 express in all groups。RyR1mRNA,CaV1.3 mRNA and their proteins in C,D group was significantly decreased as compared with A and B group(P<0.05)。Androgen and RyR1,CaV1.3 related to each other. Conclusion: Androgen can modulate erectile function via RyR1 and CaV1.3.
