[Objective]This article is to study and research the relation between recurrence rate of recurrent urinary tract infection and the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in urine after patients who are in acute episode of recurrent urinary tract infection took immunomodulatory agent(thymopeptides) 3 months and 6 months, and investigate the effect of immunomodulatory agent in female recurrent urinary tract infection.[Methods]To choose 30 cases who are in acute episode of recurrent urinary tract infection, randomly divided into two groups, antibiotics group and immunomodulator group. Detecting the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in patients urine three times with the ELISA method, One is before taking pills, the other two are after taking pills 3 months and 6 months.following-up the patients'recurrence after taking pills separately. Statistics software package spss 11.0 will be used to deal with the data obtained.[results] There were no statistical significance in age research between the two grous(P>0.05).The concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in two groups patients'urine, there were no significant difference before treaement (P>0.05),so the two groups are comparable. The concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in antibiotics group patients urine, there was no significant difference among before treatment, after 2 months and 6 months treatment(P>0.05). The concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in immunomodulator group patients'urine, there were no significant difference between before treatment and after 2 months treatment(P> 0.05),but there were significant difference when before treatment and 2 months after treatment compared to 6 months after treatment(P<0.05). The concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in two groups patients'urine after 2 months treatment is no differrnce, but there was significant difference after 6 months treatment.the recurrence rate of antibiotics group compared to immunomodulator group was no difference after 2 months treatment(P>0. 05),but there was significant difference when after 6 months treatment compared to after 2 months treatment (P<0.05); the concentration of sIgA in urine after 2 months treatment and recurrence rate in patients as leves are negatively correlated(rs=-0.645, P<0. 05),the same as after 6 months treatment(rs=-0.651, P<0.05).[conclusion] 1. In the female patients with recurrent urinary tract infection and lower concentration of sIgA in their urine, immunomodulator (thymosin) can improve the concentration of sIgA in their urine significantly.2.In the female patients with recurrent urinary tract infection, immunomodulator(thymosin) can reduce the recurrence rate of urinary tract infection.3.The higher concentration of sIgA in urine, the lower recurrence rate in the female patients with recurrent urinary tract infection.
