Research On Improvement Of Hospital Quality Cost Based On The Six Sigma

With the continuous progress of human society, science and technology has rapidly developed, people's living standards greatly improved, while the requirements of the quality of people's life is increasingly high. In order to survive and achieve sustainable development, Organizations must improve the quality competitiveness, and pay attention to and have correct understanding of the close relationship among quality, cost and efficiency.Today, the connotation of the concept of quality has made a breakthrough, from the product quality, service quality extended to the work quality, process quality. Particularly in the typical characteristics of the medical profession, services quality that hospitals have supplied is related to public health and safety. The research on cost of quality is to study how to provide the best quality with the least cost, or to study how to achieve the proper quality under the premise of the lowest cost. At the same time, the hospital must also be concerned about the effectiveness, because the low efficiency would jeopardize the organization's survival and development.Six Sigma is the theory, methods and technology system,which is through the project management to enhance the quality of organizational processes with a rigorous and efficient way. It integrates a number of advanced management concepts and methodological tools, pursues "zero defects" and the excellent quality, results in sustainable decline in the cost of quality, achieves significant improvement of the Organization's financial performance, increases customer satisfaction, makes the great breakthrough of organizational competitiveness.This paper makes a comparativeness between the quality cost theory based on Six Sigma and the traditional theory of quality cost theory, finds out their difference and interconnection about ideas and content. Theory of quality cost is applied to the hospital organization, the methods of the classification, accounting, analysing, reporting of the hospital cost of quality was elaborated. Finally hospital quality cost was optimized with the practical application of Six Sigma DMAIC model, and achievement improved is verificated, experience gained is summarized.
