Genotypes And Antifungal Susceptibility Of Candida Albicans Isolated From Pregnant And Unpregnant Women

Objective:â‘ dentify Candida species isolates from pregnant VVC,unpregnant VVC,RWC.â‘¡Determine the genotype of Candida albicans isolates from pregnant VVC,unpregnant WC,RVVC,compare the susceptibility difference to antifungal among different genotypes,and find out the relationship between genotypes and antifungal susceptibility in order to provide appropriate advices to treatment on VVC.Methods:â‘ elected 183 cases from women with clinical symptom such as pruritus vulvae,abnormal discharge and positive of Candida culturing,including 59 cases of VVC,64 cases of RVVC and 60 cases of pregnant VVC.Candida species were confirmed by using the chromogenic medium CHROMagar(CHROMagar Co,France) and the API20Caux yeast identification kit(bioMerieux);â‘¡Genotyped Candida albicans by INT-PCR(Polymerase chain reaction with INT primers),and performed drug-sensitivity test by using BIOKONT fungus kits(FUNGUS-7).Results:â‘ There are 147 C.albicans strains in 183 Candida strains(80.33%),including 50 strains of WC(84.75%),50 strains of RWC(78.13%),47 strains of pregnant WC(78.33%).â‘¡INT-PCR divided 147 C.albicans into three groups on the basis of the presence of a 450bp or 840bp product.Genotyped A strains were the most frequently strains.The results of the tests of susceptibility to drugs showed that amphotericin B and nystatin were the most sensitive drugs to C.aibicans(100%).Conclusions1.C.albicans were the main pathogens of pregnant and unpregnant WC;2 INT-PCR was the better method to genotype C.albicans rapidly;3.The rapid drug-sensitivity test of fungus was better than other methods,and was worth to popularize in clinic;4.Amphotericin B and nystatin were the most sensitive drugs to C.albicans,nystatin was the first choice to pregnant VVC;5.The relation between the C.albicans' genotypes and the antifungal susceptibilities might be useful to treatment.
