Background:The success rate of circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (CPVI) for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) ranges from 60% to 90%, which maybe imfluenced by different endpoints of the procedure.Object:Assess the success rate of CPVI with different endpoints in PAF patients. Methods and Results:A total of 145 patients were enrolled, Group A consisted of 57 patients with PAF who underwent simple CPVI, while Group B consisted of 88 patients with PAF who underwent CPVI which enhanced by adenosine (ATP) provocation and 30min waiting. Follow-up (8.94±4.98 months) was completed by 142 patients (56 patients in Group A,86 in Group B),20 of them had AF recurrence after 3 months post procedure. Patients in Group A have a higher risk in AF recurrence when compared with Group B (21.4% vs.9.3%, P=0.04).Conclusion:CPVI with the endpoint enhanced by adenosine (ATP) provocation and 30min waiting may improve the success rate in patients with PAF. |
