Objective:To explore the efficacy of percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) for osteoporotic vertebral compressive fractures(OVCF) and spinal metastasis tumor. Methods:Retrospective analysis about the data of 41 OVCF pations and 8 spinal metastasis tumor pations with was done. PVP was performed at 11 OVCF patients, percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) was performed at another 16 OVCF patients, and the other 14 OVCF pations received conservative therapy, each of the 8 spinal metastasis tumor pations received PVP. The change of visual analogue score (VAS) were measured preoperatively and on postoperative 2 days about the postoperative pations. The VAS score about all the OVCF pations were also recorded on admission and 2 years after treatment. Results:The VAS score of the OVCF pations declined significantly 2 days after either PVP (from 7.91±0.70 to 1.91±0.70, P
