Objective To translate and validate the third version of diabetes attitude scale (DAS-3), then use the DAS-3 to evaluate the attitude toward diabetes among patients with type 2 diabetes, and to analyze the correlation of attitude and behavioral (using Toobert Behavior Measuring Scale), and the factors related to the attitude towrd diabetes. Methods To translate the third version of diabetes'attitude scale (DAS-3), and evaluate the validity, re-measuring reliability and internal consistency of questionnaire.106 diabetics were investigated with the DAS-3 of Chinese version and Toobert behavior measuring scale.The data were anylized by means of describle analyses,percentage,ANOVA,logistic regression and X2. Results The rate of identification of special training is the highest, the diabetic psychological influence by diabetes is next. Generally, the self-care behaviors among type 2 diabetes patients were not optimistic. The best behavior is medicine use, and foot-care behavior is very poor. The behavior score is related with attitude, age, occupation, diabetes education, education level, follow in endocrinology clinic (p< 0.05).Conclusions The attitude towards diabetes is related to patient self-care behavior, therefore, attitude should be emphersized in diabetes education.
