| Objective:To study the clinical application and effect about metal-on-metal big head cementless total hip replacement. Methods:From 2007 to 2009,40 patients (43 hips) was treatmented by metal-on-metal big head cementless total hip replacement for osteonecrosis of the femoral head and femoral neck fracture, followed up for 14 months average, the results were evaluated both clinically and radiographically. Clinical outcomes were evaluated according to Harris evaluation score. Components migration, bone changes around the implant were measured radiologically. Results:The Harris hip score increase so much from preoperation to postoperation. Radiographical outcomes show only 1 patient has osteolysis around component,No component was loose, No component was revised. Conclusion:The outcomes about metal-on-metal big head cementless total hip replacement in the treatment of patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head and femoral neck fracture had been satisfactory. Because the wear of component, osteolysis can not be avoided, clinical and radiographical follow up for metal-on-metal big head cementless total hip replacement must be carried out persistently. |
