| ObjectiveTo summarize the clinical experiences and efficacy of laparoscopic total repair for inguinal hernia.MethodsFrom October 2007 to November 2009,8 consecutive patients underwent 12 totally extraperitoneal hernia repairs for inguinal hernia. We discuss the operating method, skills, recurrence and Complication according to our operating experiences.ResultsThe 8 cases had been performed 12 TEP. The operation was completed without converting to open surgery in all the cases. The operating time was 40 to 120 minutes (mean 52.6 minutes). The patients stay in hospital for 4 to 7 days. The mean inpatient hospital stay was 5.3 days. The patients do not need analgesics. Most complications are hematomas or seromas that account for 2 case,1 cases scrotum aerocele and 1 cases inguinal malaise, All the patients were followed up for 1-24 months. There was no recurrence.ConclusionsThe procedure of TEP is safe, faster postoperative recover, less pain, and lower complications and recurrence rate. |
