Objective:To assess the diagnostic value of Rome II criteria and RomeⅢcriteria in Dalian city patients of irritable bowel syndrome。Methods:1936 subjects were enrolled from the outpatient department of gastroenterology of First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University and Dalian University Affiliated Xinhua Hospital。Self-designed questionnaire, routine physical exami-nation and selective accessory diagnostic procedures were undergone in all subjects including 117 cases of irritable bowel syndrome,1279cases of non-irritable bowel syndrome.According to RomeⅡcriteria and RomeⅢcriteria of detection rate and in line with the rate of diagnosis, the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, positive likelihood and negative likelihood were calculated separ-ately。Results:The detection rate of Rome III was higher than RomeⅡ。The consistency of RomeⅡcriteria and RomeⅢcriteria was 95.06%.。The sensitivity and specificity of RomeⅡcriteria and RomeⅢcriteria were 82.05%(95%CI: 75.10%—89.00%),95.73%(95%CI:92.07%—99.39%)and 99.14%(95%CI: 96.42%—99.06%),97.34%(95%CI:90.73%—95.27%),respectively。The positive likelihood and negative likelihood were 95.40,36.01 and 0.18,0.04,respectively The positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 89.72%,76.71%and 98.37%,99.60%,respectively。Conclusion:①The sensitivity of RomeⅢdiagnostic criteria was obviou-sly higher than RomeⅡdiagnostic criteria, there was significant difference in statistics between the two diagnostic criteria; The specificity of Rome III diagnostic criteria was mild lower than Rome II diagnostic criteria, there was no difference in statistics between the two diagnostic criteria.②Irritable bowel syndrome could be positively diagnosed by taking an appropriate history and questionnaires, RomeⅢ criteria had higher validity in diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome。...
