Objective:To explore and evaluate the therapeutic effect and significance of Cuboid stereotactic aspiration for hypertensive putaminal few amount hemorrhage. Methods:Apply retrospective analysis of the clinical data in 11 patients with hypertensive putaminal hemorrhage who received Cuboid stereotactic aspiration for hypertensive hemorrhage from 2007.3 to 2009.6. Organize information through a detailed record. The follow-up after 1 month and 6 months will be recorded, to understand the situation in patients with daily living, by ADL and GOS scores. Results:The group of 11 patients was collected, with bleeding sites putamen, volume in 20-30ml, surgical options are temporal approach, by cuboid stereotactic aspiration with CT. Average rate of intraoperative hematoma is 70%, and hematoma identified over 90%cleared with post-operative extubation CT review, extubation time was 3-5 days. There was no deaths and no cases of postoperative hematoma enlargement.5 cases had pulmonary infection. There was no renal failure and decubitus com-plications, no deep vein thrombosis. All patients were discharged or transferred to rehabilitation therapy in 7-12 days after admission. The average length of stay was 9 days.11 patients were discharged when the conscious mind, language function, and muscle strength recovered.11 patients were enrolled, no patient died,6 patients GOS were 5 points after one month, rating 55.6%; 5 patients GOS were 4 points, rating 36.4%; 8 patients ADL index were over 75 points after 6 months,62.5%of survivors had the ability to take care of their life completely. Conclusion:Cuboid stereotactic aspiration for hypertensive hemo- rrhage is an entire new operation pattern to remedy putaminal hemotoma, which is easy to operate; and it needs shorter time to operate and less injury; the procedure also has good therapeutic effect. This technique is a better minimally invasive therapy for hypertensive putaminal hemorrhage.
