Clinical Significance Of Plasma Adiponectin Level In The Patients With Gastric Cancer

Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of plasma adiponectin and three kinds of tumor marker, such as CEA,CA125,CA199 levels in patients with gastric cancer.Methods: Test the plasma adiponectin and serum CEA,CA125,CA199 levels in 40 patients with gastric cancer (gastric cancer group) and 18 healthy controls (controls group) using Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA ) and electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay(ECLIA). The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) and the area under ROC curve(AUC)was used to evaluate the value of the indicators in the diagnosis of gastric cancer. And the optimal threshold of them to diagnose gastric cancer was calculated by ROC curves.Make correlation analysis respectively of the plasma adiponectin and serum CEA,CA125,CA199, which are recognized as mature clinical tumor markers.Results: The Median of plasma adiponectin was significantly lower in patients with gastric cancer(7.54ug/ml) than in healthy controls (13.59ug/ml), and the serum CEA,CA125,CA199 levels was significantly higher in patients with gastric cancer than in healthy controls, there was significant difference in statistic(sP<0.05). Among the AUC of plasma adiponectin and serum CEA,CA125,CA199, the AUC of plasma adiponectin is the highest(0.73), and then followed by CEA(0.70),CA125(0.70),CA199(0.64), but the AUCs of these four indicators were no significant difference in statistics(P>0.05).The correlation analysis of the plasma adiponectin and serum CEA,CA125,CA199 showed that there were no significant difference in statistics(P>0.05).Conclusions: The plasma adiponectin has some diagnosis value in gastric cancer. The plasma concentration of adiponectin was significantly lower in patients with gastric cancer, and it was negative related to gastric cancer. Low plasma is a risk facter for gastric cancer; Maybe adiponectin has the function of antitumor.
