With the change of lifestyle and the acceleration of aging in society, there is a trend of increase on prevalence of T2DM, which has become another serious hazard and chronic infectious disease second only to heart and cerebrovascular diseases and cance. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of DM is a major social issure. As is known to all, exercise therapy has become one of the most important treatments in preventing DM, and the foot reflexology also has effect. Many studies has showed that the foot reflexology has special effect, firstly,it can improve blood circulation, blood supply and neurotrophic and nutration states. Secondly, it can prevent peripheral neuropathy, promoterepaire of peripheral nerve injury and increase speed of motor nerve conduction. There are exact effect in studies on foot reflexology and vigorous walking respectively about treating DM,but there has been no study on the two combined methods to treat DM.Purpose: To explore the effect of foot reflexology and vigorous walking on improving DM by the experiment. It also would provide more interventions on diabetes and provide experimental basis on enriching the theory of diabetes treatment. Methods:The objects in this paper were newly diagnosed T2DM patients aged 40-50 years old,who not yet entered the stage of clinical medicine. And the doctors suggested that it could prevent by exercise and diet control to adjust blood glucose level,it should observe its change at any time to decide whether to take medicine.During the experiment, the objects were within control of blood glucose, and there was no drug treatment. There was PAR-Q questionnaire for objects to complete before experiment, and the eighteen objects who have met the requirements of experiment were randomly divided into exercise group (Group E) of eight people and exercise combined with foot reflexology group (Group EF) of ten people. The indicators of heart rate of two groups were monitored by POLAR during vigorous walking exercise, and the exercise intensity was based on individualization.Group E recovered to the stillness after exercise, and Group EF did foot reflexology for 45min.The frequency of two groups was four times a week for four weeks'intervation. The indicators of FBG, 2hPG, GSP, HbAlc, blood lipids and other blood indicators were determined before and after experiment in both groups. And to compare the changes in both groups, the indicators of PP,force time, impulse and others were also tested by Footscan in Belgium before and after experiment. Results:â‘ After four weeks'intervation, FBG and 2hPG level in Group EF was significantly lower after experiment than that before experiment(P<0.05 and P <0.01), which recovered to its normal range. But there was no significant change in Group E with only vigorous walking therapy. The results showed that combined with foot reflexology could better control plasma glucose. 2hPG level in Group EF and group E was significantly lower after experiment than that before experiment(P <0.01), but the 2hPG level in group EF lower than groupE after experimen (P <0.05), and the 2hPG level in group EF recovered to its normal range after experimental.â‘¡There was positive effect on GSP and HbAlc levels for T2DM by vigorous walking combined with foot reflexology. After two weeks'intervation, the indicators of GSP were still out of normal range, which showed that the indicators of blood glucose were high before two weeks. But after four weeks'intervation, the indicators of blood glucose in Group EF were recovered to normal range and there was obvious decreaseafter two weeks than before(P<0.05).The indicators of blood glucose in Group E were also recovered to almostly normal range, ere was no obvious significant on HbAlc levels in both groups. But HbAlc levels were significantly lower in Group EF than that in Group E(P<0.05).â‘¢There was obvious decrease in LDL only among the four indicators of blood lipid. There was obviouse change in foot pressure distribution in Group EF, which mainly in the decrease of anterior foot pressure and increase of the foot arch and heel. But there was little change in outside impulse on T1 anterior foot. Conclusions:â‘ It showed that vigorous walking combined with foot reflexology could improve high plasma glucose and regulate blood lipids for DM patients. There was little effect on FBG, 2hPG and blood lipids by four weeks'vigorous walking only.â‘¡It showed that vigorous walking combined with foot reflexology could increase foot arch's pressure, the percentage of total force's support and impulse. The change could improve the characteristics of foot high-pressure zone in DM patients which reduce repeated force.
