| Background Breast cancer is one of the most common and important breast disease in women.World Health Organization estimates that about 1,200,000 women get this disease and 500,000 women die of breast cancer every year.In western Europe and North America, the incidence of breast cancer has been the first of the malignant tumor in women in recent years. The incidance of breast cancer is also increasing in China year by year, and what's more,it tends to get the first place of the malignant tumor in women. However, the pathogen of breast cancer has not been clear completely by now. Because of the progress of the technology of researches and experiments, lots of tests proved that the infection of high risk human papillomavirus can induce sustained proliferation in vitro to promote cell immortalization, while inhibiting cell differentiation and changeing in spontaneous and induced cell apoptosis. All of above can help us to understand the occurrence, development, prognosis and treatment of the High-risk HPV-related tumors. In 1990 Band and others first confirmed in vitro transfection of HPV 16 and HPV 18 immortalized mammary epithelial genes, so that the relationship between HPV and breast cancer received increasing attention. It has been clear that human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is an important cause of cervical cancer. If the HPV infection of breast tissue is related to the HPV infection of cervical cells is not completely clear. And it is reported less in China and aboard. Objective To examine the infection of high risk human papillomavirus(HR-HPV) in breast cancer tissues and Cervical epithelial cells and determine the relationship between infection in breast tissue and cervical cells. Methods The exfoliated cells were collected from 56 malignant and 20 benign breast tumors. And cervical exfoliated cells were collected from the patients of breast cancer at the same time.Thirteen subtypes HR-HPV DNA were detected by hybrid capture 2(HC2)system (HPV-16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,68). ER, PR and Her-2 of all the breast tumors were also detected. According to the results, use the method of X2 to test the correlation of the High-risk HPV infection between in breast cancer tissue and cervical cells. Results HR-HPV DNA was positive in 9 out of 56 breast cancer tumors. Positive rate of High-risk HPV in cervical cells is 14.3%(8/56), and none of 20 benign breast diseases. So the infection of bresat tissue and cervical cells is unrelated P=4.11×10-5 (α=0.05).Conclusions HR-HPV infection in breast cancer tissues is not related with infection in cervical cells. |
